A festival with a legendary family tree

“Bluetone – Das Festival an der Donau” (Bluetone – the festival at the Danube) celebrated its premiere in July 2012. However, the event itself is not new. For the previous 25 years, the festival was able to establish itself as a top-class event in Bavaria and beyond – as “Jazz an der Donau” (Jazz at the Danube). Bluetone is organised by the association “Jazz an der Donau e.V.” under the chairmanship of Heinz and Ralph Huber of Vilshofen, Germany. One of the reasons for the renaming was the focus of the festival. The new name enables a diversification of the musical spectrum.
